RAPID-AMS

Randomised evaluation of RADIX

We will build three sequential research protocols within the same patient population for the same ultimate goal of better antibiotic prescribing.

Each stage seeks to demonstrate better prescribing by providing information at the time of prescribing on

  1. Local antibiotic guidelines

  2. Historical anti-microbial resistance

  3. Predicted anti-microbial resistance

Stage

Outcome
1

Urinary Tract Infection

Nudge to guideline compliance

Usual care

Guideline compliant prescribing

2

Urinary Tract Infection

Bug-drug mismatch alert based on historical antimicrobial resistance

Stage 1 Intervention

Reduced bug-drug mismatch against historical samples

3

Urinary Tract Infection

Bug-drug mismatch alert based on predicted antimicrobial resistance

Stage 2 Intervention

Reduced bug-drug mismatch against current samples
